A Brief-Debrief on Neuro Atypical People!

There is a lot of neurodiversity surrounding us!

Due to the recent uprising of representation in social media, more and more people are able to share their stories about living with developmental disorders.

Millions of children (and adults) go through life undiagnosed, and this makes life tough when their brains don't function exactly like everybody else's.

I don't think you grasp just how many people have no idea why their brain works differently. One-Fourth of all children with autism go undiagnosed. Less than One-Fifth of adults with ADHD are aware that they have it.

Thankfully, more and more people are aware of disorders like ADHD and Autism everyday. As a person living in a house with many (sooooo many (literally 6 people)) people who have these disorders, its nice knowing that we're all in good company and people are getting the assistance they need to thrive.

Something that comes to mind as I write this is the movie about Temple Grandin, who is a brilliant women who has autism. She recognized that her brain worked differently and she used her different perspective to design cattle dips and slaughterhouses that were safe, calming, and humane for the cattle. She identified heavily with the cattle, she saw herself as prey, just like they were. She thought that if we were eating these animals, they at least deserved a little humanity. She is full of compassion and brilliance.

Claire Danes portrays her in the movie, its called Temple Grandin you should definitely watch it.

(This is the brilliant Temple Grandin)

So bottom line here, when people with disabilities and disorders are given the right conditions, the freedom to pursue what they're passionate about, and the same respect we give to neuro typical people, we can make beautiful things.
